Beyond the boat: Eli & Kaipa

Three friends enjoying a conversation on a wooden pier by the sea, with clear blue skies and distant hills in the background.

A boat shoe should work on deck, on shore, and throughout the day. On splintered docks, slanted rocks, and long days in motion, the demands are higher. That’s where Kaipa and Eli come in – lightweight, quick-drying, and with grip you can trust.

Life on the water involves more than just the deck. You step ashore onto slanted rocks. You climb onto docks where the wood can be worn and rough. And once you’re on land, the day continues – walks, exploring islands, maybe taking the dog out. The reality is that life with a boat is dynamic. Your shoes should be too.

Here's Kaipa and Eli, two modern alternatives to traditional boat shoes.

Reliable grip, wet or dry

Grip needs to be something you can trust – not just when it’s dry. Both Kaipa and Eli feature RB9X, our own rubber compound designed to grip on decks, rocks, and other wet surfaces. At the same time, it offers high durability, so the performance lasts over time.

The outsole has a relatively fine tread pattern, reducing the risk of bringing gravel and debris onboard – something that can otherwise scratch sensitive surfaces.

Shoes get wet at sea

In wet and warm environments, the upper material becomes essential. Both Eli and Kaipa feature a light, airy mesh upper made from recycled PET polyester. It allows air and water to pass through, helping the shoes breathe and dry quickly after rain, splashes, or an unexpected dip.

Weight matters

A lightweight and flexible shoe makes it easier to move naturally – whether you’re going from bow to stern, jumping ashore, or walking longer distances on land. And lightweight isn’t just about comfort – it’s about maintaining energy throughout the day.

Kaipa weighs 200 grams and Eli 220 grams, making them two of our lightest models.

Why choose Eli?

Eli is the most minimal option – lightweight, breathable, and easy to slip on. The elastic laces provide a snug, adaptive fit instantly, giving you a comfortable and natural feel every time you step in.

Why choose Kaipa?

Kaipa shares many of Eli’s qualities but adds more stability and a sportier feel. It also features a speed lace system, allowing you to quickly adjust the fit depending on what the day demands.

In the end, it’s the overall experience that stands out

Choose either Eli or Kaipa, and you get a shoe that moves seamlessly between the different environments of life on the water. From road to boat, across decks, rocks, and dockside walks – these are shoes that feel right all day long.
